New Nordic Member in IPSA's Executive Committee


Professor Jørgen Elklit (Aarhus University) has been elected member of the 23rd IPSA Executive Committee. Elklit is professor of political science at Aarhus University in Denmark, where he has held various positions since 1970, including two periods as Head of Department. He was elected with the active support from the political science associations in the Nordic region.  


SWEPSA Conference 2014


SWEPSA is The yearly meeting of the Swedish Political Science Association is hosted by Lund university Oct 8-10, 2014. The website with information about the program and the workshops is available here. Our Scandinavian collegues are very welcome to participate in the meeting.

NOPSA Conference 2014


The workshops for the Nordic Political Science Association Conference in Gothenburg, 12-15 August, are now published on our website.

There are 37 workshops. Each workshop is led by a chair. The applications for papers should be submitted by email to the relevant workshop chair.

The applications should contain:

a) The title of the paper

b) A description of the research problem etc. of the paper (200-300 words)

c) The name(s) of the author(s), institutional affiliations (department and university if applicable) and email address.

The deadline for paper applications is on 18 January 2014. By 3 February 2014 the workshop chair will distribute information to all applicants about which of the applications have been accepted.


Conference on Comparative perspectives on political science and gender


The Finnish political science association (FPSA) is organising an international conference in Helsinki together with the University ofHelsinki Faculty of Social Sciences, International Political ScienceAssociation (IPSA), and the Nordic Political Science Association(NoPSA).


The participants are requested to register here by December 2. Registration fee is 100 euros for representatives of outside organisations (i.e. participants who are not members of any nationalpolitical science association).


Johan Skytte Prize in Political Science
